Jean Ng, Head of Enterprise Singapore, and her team visited Golden Coast Developers on July 15 as part of a tour focused on Africa’s innovative and sustainable real estate developments. During the visit, Ng engaged with Neil Oku, CEO of Golden Coast Developers, to discuss various aspects of Ghana’s real estate market, including property demand, financing, investment opportunities, and the challenges faced by the industry.
A key highlight of their discussions was the progress of Golden Coast Developers’ flagship project, Heritage 100. This development is noted for its innovative, smart, and culture-rich facilities, which are designed to enhance the living experience while promoting sustainability.
Ng’s primary interest lay in the eco-friendly and sustainable aspects of Heritage 100, aligning with her broader mission for a greener future for Singapore, Ghana, and the global community. Heritage 100 is equipped with several sustainable features, such as private plant gardens that provide shade and cleaner air, water-saving devices, energy-efficient technologies, natural insulation tiles, and materials with reduced embodied carbon, all contributing to a lower carbon footprint.
Impressed by the project’s leadership in sustainable living, Ng drew comparisons between Heritage 100 and similarly ambitious developments in Singapore. She expressed her excitement about the potential for such initiatives to set a precedent across Africa and hopes that on future visits, more developers will adopt greener and more sustainable practices, fostering a better present and future.
Her visit underscores the growing emphasis on sustainability in real estate, as developers like Golden Coast lead the way in creating eco-friendly living environments in Africa.
