The President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), Mr Patrick Ebo Bonful, has highlighted the transformation of Ghana’s real estate sector, citing technology as a key driver of accessibility and efficiency. Speaking at the official launch of Diaspora Property Expo (DPE 2025) at the Accra Marriott Hotel, he emphasised that younger diaspora buyers prefer the convenience of technology, and assured stakeholders that the expo would fully leverage digital platforms to enhance impact.

DPE 2025 is a collaborative initiative between Diaspora Property Investment Ltd, Made in Ghana Consulting Ltd, GREDA, the Ministry of Works and Housing, Nkunim Diaspora City of Mankessim, Global Handlings Shipping Limited (GHSL), and partners. The Canadian leg will take place at the Marriott Centre Hotel in Ontario from 21st to 23rd March 2025, while the United States edition will be hosted at the World Trade Centre of Greater Philadelphia from 28th to 30th March 2025. Both events aim to attract Ghanaian diaspora investors, particularly from North America, to explore opportunities in Ghana’s real estate market.

Country Director of DPE LLC, Mr Sidney Justin Tehoda, assured exhibitors that the expo would connect them with a targeted audience seeking genuine investment opportunities in Ghana. Rev Stephen Yaw Osei, Chief Director at the Ministry of Works and Housing, described the expo as a vital platform to showcase achievements and foster collaboration in the housing sector. More than 57 developers, agencies, financial institutions, and design firms have expressed interest, but only 20 reputable companies will qualify for each expo, which will include exhibitions, conferences, panel discussions, and an investment clinic.

Renowned lawyer Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, speaking on the theme “Harnessing the Full Potential of the Real Estate Industry in Ghana: An All-Hands-On-Deck Approach,” urged stakeholders to protect Ghana’s peaceful democratic image, noting its importance for international investor confidence. US partner Mr Kofi Nartey, CEO of Globl RED LLC, described DPE 2025 as a powerful bridge between Ghana and the diaspora, while Canadian partner Mr Julius Ossom, President of Aim 2 Impact, stressed Canada’s large diaspora community eager to invest back home.

Representatives of Ghana’s government pledged support, with Madam Ayishatu Abdallah of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calling the expo a forward-thinking initiative that connects expertise, resources, and opportunities across borders. Ahead of the March events, DPE 2025 will be re-launched at the Ghana Embassy in Washington, DC, on 22nd January 2025, followed by roadshows across more than 25 states and cities in North America.

DPE 2025 is expected to be a game-changer, strengthening ties with the diaspora while creating long-term opportunities in Ghana’s real estate industry.
