The CIR Summit 2024, organized by the Chartered Institute of Realtors (CIR) and the Chamber of Real Estate (CRE) in partnership with the Embassy of Lebanon, concluded last Friday at the Accra International Conference Centre. The summit brought together diplomats, traditional leaders, industry experts, and stakeholders to address Ghana’s pressing challenges: flood mitigation and reducing the housing deficit.
Under the theme “Partnering to Resolve Flooding and Reducing the Housing Deficit in Ghana,” the event featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and the launch of a social housing scheme. Experts from academia, real estate, and government shared innovative solutions for long-term housing development and flood prevention.
Lebanese Ambassador Maher Kheir expressed support for the initiative, stating, “I am excited about this initiative and believe our partnership will go a long way in helping to resolve these challenges.” Dr. Mark Ankrah, a consultant and former Managing Director of the State Housing Company, praised the summit’s success, saying, “The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration.”
The summit’s discussions, led by experts including Dr. Ankrah, Dr. Isaac Arthur, and Enkelejda Xhebexhiu, focused on sustainable housing and flood management strategies. Organizers are optimistic about expanding their efforts globally to drive innovation and national development
